$325K in delinquent taxes due

Revenue Commissioner Michelle Boswell said this week $325,000 in outstanding property taxes are still due for Crenshaw County.
Delinquent notices were mailed out Tuesday , Jan. 12.Anyone who has yet to make payment will now have a $5 late fee plus interest added to the total amount due. The delinquent amount is good through Feb. 28. Probate notices go out the first week of March, which will increase the amount due once again.
If taxes are not paid by the end of March, property will be advertised in The Luverne Journal for three weeks in April. Residents who have not paid their tax bill prior to May will have property sold at the annual delinquent property sale. The sale is typically held the third week of May.
Payments can be made in the office, online, by mail or by phone.
Office hours are Monday thru Friday 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
