One of Greenville’s homegrown beauties have claimed a new crown. Dailyn Swann was named the 2021 Miss Alabama Teen USA last weekend in Auburn, crowned by her predecessor, Miss Alabama Teen USA 2020, Katie Watts.
Dailyn, a graduate of Greenville High School, is no stranger to the world of pageants, having earned crowns in several school and community pageants over the years. It was as Miss Sherling Lake that the lovely brunette earned her latest, and thus far, greatest title.
Dailyn joined 40 other young women from around the state to compete for the title of Miss Alabama Teen USA 2021 on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 9-10, at the Auburn Hotel Grand Ballroom in Auburn.
Contestants for Miss Alabama Teen USA were judged in three categories — interview, athletic wear and evening gown — and all the categories have equal weight, counting for 33 percent of each contestant’s score.
As the new Miss Teen Alabama USA, Dailyn will move on to compete for Miss Teen USA later this year, dates as yet to be determined.
“We’re so proud of Dailyn for being honored as Miss Alabama Teen USA last weekend,” said Tracy Salter, Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce director.
“Dailyn has served as a Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce Camellia Girl and ambassador for two years, dedicating numerous hours of her time to chamber, city, county, and community events. She’s a beautiful young woman and an exemplary leader within the Chamber of Commerce, her school, and community, and she will represent the Miss Teen USA title exceptionally well. We look forward to watching as the success and opportunities that this next chapter unfold for her.”
As the new Miss Teen Alabama USA, Dailyn will move on to compete for Miss Teen USA later this year, dates as yet to be determined. This will be the 39th Miss Teen USA, with Ki’ilana Arruda of Hawaii crowning her successor at the end of the event.
