Margaret Pritchett Privett
Margaret Pritchett Privett, a resident of Greenville, died on November 2, 2020, at the age of 83 after a brief illness. Known as “Boo” to her family and friends, she was born and raised in Tuscaloosa to parents, Harry and Margaret Partlow Pritchett. She was a graduate and loyal supporter of the University of Alabama, serving on the Board of Trustees and during college, serving as President of Kappa Delta sorority.
Boo was predeceased by her parents, a son, Ernest Vernon Stabler, III (Trish) and a daughter, Molly Ayer Stabler, and her husband, H. Mallory Privett. Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Stabler Cantey (Jack) and Kathleen Pritchett Stabler and, two grandchildren, Margaret Cantey and Jack Cantey, III, a brother, the Reverand Harry H. Pritchett, Jr., two sisters, Katie Mitchell (Jim) and Kathleen Quarles (Ralph), and special friend, Mattie Pearl Robinson. A multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and other members of the Pritchett, Partlow and Stabler families mourn her passing, as well.
Boo was a loving mother, and she was kind to everyone, always thinking of others first. In addition, she was a lifelong Episcopalian and was very active in the churches where she worshipped, especially her home church, St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Greenville. She served as Senior Warden and on the Vestry. She was also a member of the Colonial Dames chapters in Montgomery, Alabama and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Graveside services were held at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma, Alabama on Monday, November 9, 2020 at 11 a.m. with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing..

Tommie Mazine Heartstill Farnham
Tommie Maxine Heartsill Farnham, 84 passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Tuesday, November 10, 2020. She was born at Searcy, in Butler County and later lived in Montgomery and Tuscaloosa County. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, November 14, 2020 beginning at 10:00 a.m. funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. both will be held at Bethel United Methodist Church with Reverend Joe Lisenby officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing.
She is survived by a daughter, Melondie Reeves Carter (Raz), of Tuscaloosa, AL and a son, Homer Reeves Jr. (Jennifer) of Crenshaw County. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Raz Carter III, Ry Carter (Meagen) Justin Reeves (Camden), Sawyer Reeves, Kimberly Till (George) and Tyler Carter (Christy); great grandchildren Raz Carter IV, Anderson, Grayson and Lawson Carter, Luke and Huck Reeves, Lilly Boswell, and Tyler, Matthew and Grey Carter.
Her parents were Nannie Flora Freeman Heartsill and James Abner John Heartsill, and she was seventh of fourteen children. Of the fourteen, she is survived by two sisters Sarah Nadine Heartsill Bell and Laurice Lucene Heartsill Goorley and one brother Henry Jackson Heartsill. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and her son, Homer Reeves Jr.. She is preceded by siblings, Flora Kathleen Heartsill Hardin, Imogene Heartsill Ham, Zollie Renford Heartsill, James Abner Heartsill Jr., Corrine Jeanette Heartsill Perdue, Barbara Christine Heartsill Segars, Richard Ray Heartsill, Alice Faye Heartsill Dantzler, Clifford Ronald Heartsill and Danice Delphine Heartsill Costes.
As a young girl, Maxine was known for her keen intelligence, her strong work ethic and her ability to write poetry. She enjoyed several vocations including teaching head start in Lowndes County and being a successful realtor in Montgomery County. Reading the Bible and leading the choir at Bethel Methodist and later singing in the choir at Eastern Hills Baptist Church were precious to her. As hobbies she read cookbooks, cooked and grew flowers. She dearly loved her family and friends and was always willing to help people in need. One of the poems she wrote and practiced was “Be Someone’s Angel Today”.
We were amazed and grateful for the kindness and care shown to her during her illness at Capstone Village in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Thank you to all of her family and friends that blessed her during her lifetime.

Kirby Louis Blackburn
Kirby Louis Blackburn, age 61, of Georgiana, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at home surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Kirby was known for his love and dedication to public service. He began his love for the first responder lifestyle at age 14 working with Max Ambulance Service. Having a “Servant’s Heart”, Kirby became a firefighter with Georgiana Fire Department in 1990. Kirby and several of his colleagues worked tirelessly for 5 years and in 1995 proudly opened South Butler Rescue Squad.
Kirby loved his wife and all of his family wholeheartedly; he was a “father figure” to several people and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He always stood firm on his beliefs and you always knew what was on his mind! Kirby would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need and even through this past year, he would answer any call that was dispatched out and needed help. Kirby will not only be missed by his large group of family and friends but he will also be missed by the community as well.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 17 years, Debbie Blackburn; daughter Shannon Lewis Whigham (Shannon “Whig”); son T.J. Lewis (Aerial); sister Debby Blackburn Lowe (Conley); brother Mason Blackburn; grandchildren Talan, Arabella, and M.K.; nieces Jamie Roberts, Melody Blizzard, Tara Brown, Vickie Blackburn, and Haley Gipson; nephews Jason Wunderlich, Gabe Carpenter, Andrew Carpenter, and Allen Blackburn; great-nieces Levi Locher, Shae Taylor, Adelaide and Evie Carpeter, Abegail Garpenter, Breylon Gipson; great-nephews Lucus Carpenter, Parker Blackburn, Kaiden Cambell; great-great niece Charleigh Grace Taylor; great-great nephew Garrett Taylor; special friends Rex and Selina Stokes A.K.A. “Mother and Daddy”; and many many adopted children and family.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Alene Riley; father Vernie Blackburn; step-father Stanley Riley; sister Shelia Sellers; brother Rickey Blackburn; and nephew Eric Dewulf.
A gathering of family and friends was held on November 20, 2020, . at Johnson Funeral Home, 218 W. State Highway 106, Georgiana, Alabama. Memorialization is by cremation. Johnson’s Funeral Home of Georgiana has been entrusted with arrangements.

Billy Lancaster
Funeral Service for Mr. Billy Lancaster, 88, of Greenville was held on Sunday, November 22 2020 at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Brushey Creek Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Carmen Nessi Lancaster; sons Carl Lancaster (Jeannie), William Lancaster (Teresa), Vaughn Lancaster (Yrene); grandchildren Justin Lancaster (Yuriana), Nicole Lancaster Allen (Chris), Samantha Lancaster, Kristian Hargrove, Hunter Lancaster, and Christopher Lancaster; and great grandchild Rafael; sister Peggy Branyon of Kerrville, TX; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents L. Pratt Lancaster and Fairy Lancaster.
Mr. Lancaster was born in Bolling, AL and graduated from Georgiana High School. He served in the United States Navy for 4 years followed by four years at Auburn University where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He held numerous positions over many decades working in many countries. He retired from Monsanto. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Greenville and Brushey Creek Baptist Church.
He was a loving husband, father, son, and grandfather and lived an exemplary life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
