Brantley’s incredible season continued this past weekend as the bulldogs defeated their rival, Highland Home, in a 48-12 victory.

The bulldog’s offense has been unstoppable this season, scoring nearly 54 points per game. Highland simply did not have the personnel to slow down the vaunted Brantley attack.

Things got started quickly for the bulldogs in the first quarter as Brantley Quarterback Tucker Kilcrease found Kenuwyn Dixon for a 25-yard touchdown pass.

The bulldogs would stay tied 6-6 with Highland Home for much of the first quarter, however Brantley would regain momentum after a forced fumble by MLB Walt Johnson. This would give the bulldogs great field position, starting their drive on Highland Home’s 25-yard line. The turnover would lead to points for Brantley, as Daquan Pittman would capitalize with a 2-yard touchdown run. 14-6 Brantley.

Highland Home would respond with a touchdown of their own, cutting the lead to 14-12. However, it was all Brantley for the rest of game. 

The pivotal moment came on a 3rd and 12 in the second quarter, when Kilcrease threw a 68-yard TD pass to Kedrick Brown. Until that point, Highland Home had cemented themselves as Brantley’s toughest challenge of the season.

Kilcrease would then find brown again on their next drive, connecting with him on a 15-yard TD pass to give the Bulldogs a 27-12 halftime lead.

The backbreaker would come at the beginning of the 3rd, as Brantley would go on a quick 80-yard drive to put themselves up 34-12. The bulldogs would score 14 more points on the way to their 48-12 victory.

Kilcrease would finish off the day with a 64.3% pass completion, 181 yards, 2 INTs and 3 touchdowns.

Kenuwyn Dixon had 3 carries for 43 yards and 2 touchdowns. Kedrick Brown had 2 receptions for 83 yards and 2 TDs.

Kedrick Brown was awarded player of the game.

Brantley (5-0) now looks ahead to face Samson this Friday night. Highland home (3-3) hopes to recover against Isabella.
