It was a hard-fought, back-and-forth game at Tiger Stadium Friday night for Homecoming.
But in the end, the Isabella Mustangs upset the homestanding Greenville Tigers 21-20.
The Tigers struck first on the gridiron.
With 5:02 left in the first quarter, Chrishon Crenshaw scores a 24-yard TD and the PAT is good. Greenville 7, Isabella 0.
Isabella fired back shortly.
Isabella’s Jake Logan scores a 6-yard TD with 2:06 left in first and the PAT is good.
The game was tied 7-7.
Isabella fumbled with 9:17 left in the second quarter, and Greenville’s DeShawn Johnson picked up the fumbled and returned it for a Tigers’ TD.
The PAT was no good.
In the second half, the teams battled back and forth until 26 seconds left in the third quarter, Isabella made the score 13-13.
With 5:55 left in the fourth, the Tigers scored a TD and went up 20-13.
Late in the fourth, Isabella scored again and went up by one to finish out the game.
This week, the Tigers travel to Rehobeth. Rehobeth is 2-3 for the season and 0-3 in the region.
The Tigers are 4-1 and 2-0 for the region.
