Fall sports are in full swing, but Crenshaw County Schools reminds spectators to abide by the rules set for by the Alabama Department of Public Health and the Alabama High School Athletic Association.
Spectators are allowed to attend football games and other athletic events.
However, there are rules.
“Players, coaches, officials and spectators may not congregate within 6 feet of a person from another household to the extent necessary, and only to the extent necessary, for players, coaches, and officials to directly participate in the athletic activity.”
Superintendent Dodd Hawthorne said in a memo that spectators are required to wear a mask or other facial covering that covers the nostrils and mouth at all times while within 6 feet of a person from another household.
Additionally, seating capacity at all Crenshaw County Schools athletic venues will be limited to 50%.
Parents of athletes, cheerleaders and band members will have the opportunity to purchase tickets prior to them being made available to the general public.
“We appreciate your support of our athletic teams, cheerleaders and band,” Hawthorne said. “These students work extremely hard and make a huge sacrifice to represent their respective school. It’s unfortunate that we are having to limit capacity to these events, but we believe that under these circumstance we have little choice.”
