Chicken aficionados, get ready. Zaxby’s in Greenville will open its doors Monday.
Owner Jadia Carter said that they were extremely excited to open for business after seven years of working toward opening the franchise.
The new fast-food restaurant famous for its chicken wings, chicken fingers, sandwiches and salads is located at the intersection of Fort Dale Road and Manningham Road, across from CVS.
“We have been trying to get it built for seven years now,” Carter said. “And we are excited. This is the first store with the new design.”
Carter said they hope to be able to open the dining room in the near future, but won’t initially be able to do that due to COVID-19.
“We will be drive-thru only,” she said.
But don’t let that worry you, she said.
They will have an additional order-taker.
Zaxby’s has a tablet system similar to Chick-Fil-A that will allow for a more speedy drive-thru experience.
There will be an employee out taking orders in the drive-thru wearing a vest.
Carter said the person will greet customers, but socially distance.
Additionally, Carter said they have 48 employees hired currently but will stay around 50.
“We have had a great response from the community,” she said.
Hours of operation will be 10 a.m. until 10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. until 11 p.m., on Friday and Saturday.
The Greenville Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting on Monday at 9:30 a.m., at the restaurant.
