A local company is expanding in Greenville once again, and the city is helping by abating taxes for the company.
All state and local noneducational property taxes, all construction related transaction taxes, except those local construction related taxes levied for educational purposes or for capital improvements for education will be abated for 10 years.
Ozark Logistics opened its doors in the Camellia City two years ago and this marks the third expansion.
The new expansion will invest some $4 million in Butler County.
Mike Dean, senior vice president of the company, said they initially planned to employ six to eight drivers when they opened but expanded to 17 drivers.
Drivers for Ozark Logistics can make between $75,000 and $85,000 per year, and are able to be home with their families two or three nights per week.
Dean said that the company provides new equipment to drivers.
Their next expansion will add 25 trucks to its fleet, 10 of which will be in Greenville.
With the expansion, Ozark Logistics and Ozark Materials will have well over 100 employees in Greenville.
Dean said that being a truck driver is one of the quickest ways to make $100,000.
“We are a vital part of the community,” he said. “And we continue to grow.”
