Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, at First Baptist Church Luverne for Patsye Brunson Folmar, 88, of Goshen, who died on Saturday, Nov. 2. A private family burial will be held at later date at Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. prior to the service on Friday, Nov. 8.
Born in Elba on July 28, 1931, Miss Pat, as she was known by all, was a daughter of the late William Matthew and Annie Rushing Brunson. She was a graduate of the University of Alabama. She retired after many years of teaching and coaching cheerleading at both Luverne High and Crenshaw Christian Academy. She was a Rotarian, member and past president of the Luverne Garden Club, past regent and member of the Oliver Wiley Chapter of DAR, as well as member of numerous organizations, including Alabama Treasure Forest, Soil and Water, RCD and First Baptist Church Luverne.
Her husband, Ned Flowers Folmar; son, Wilson Douglas Folmar and brothers, William Lister Brunson, Jack Rushing Brunson and Jerry Burton Brunson, preceded Miss Pat in death.
Survivors include her sons, Dale Brunson Folmar (Angela) and Patrick Lee Folmar (Denise); sister, Marjorie Brunson Pittman; grandchildren, Elizabeth Leigh Folmar, Mary Kathryn Folmar, Chase Alexander Folmar, Christopher Ned Folmar and Cameron Martin Folmar and many nieces and nephews and other close family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First Baptist Church Luverne, Building and Grounds Fund.
