The Fort Dale Academy Eagles cheerleading squad soared high this summer at cheer camp, earning stellar ratings. The 14-girl squad attended the UCA Alabama Independent School Association Cheer Camp held in late June on the campus of Troy University.
“Historically, this has always been held in Montgomery at Huntingdon College; this was the first year it was held at Troy,” Ginger Salter, who is serving her first year as FDA’s cheer coach, said. “The squad earned Superior ratings in their Sideline, Game Day Cheer and Rally Routine evaluations and all five seniors — Mary Katherine Salter, Victoria Son, Emma Thomas, Hayden Fail and Ryleigh Mixon — were chosen as UCA All-Americans. Three of the seniors — Mary Katherine, Victoria and Emma — were also chosen as AISA All-Star Cheerleaders. I am proud to say those girls will get to cheer with their fellow All-Stars at the AISA All-Star game on Dec. 6, at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.”
The Eagles cheerleaders are once again planning to hold their poinsettia fundraiser, set to start in late October, with the flowers delivered the first week of December.
“These poinsettias are always big and beautiful and perfect for holiday decorating at home and in your office or business. We appreciate all those who support this fundraisers and others we hold throughout the year, such as our recent bake sale,” Salter concluded.
“And our cheerleaders are more than ready to cheer on our team this fall, Go Eagles!”
