Although Hurricane Michael did not directly affect Butler County, it did do enough damage in Dothan to alter the kickoff time of the Fort Dale Academy and Northside Methodist contest Friday.
School officials announced Thursday afternoon that the game’s kickoff would be moved up from 7 p.m. to 3 p.m. due to power outages throughout Dothan. A day game proved not to be the difference the Eagles needed as their woes continued against the Knights, losing 42-14 and falling to 2-5 on the season.
On offense for the Eagles, Cade Mansmann carried the ball 12 times for 107 yards, while Baron Brack toted the pigskin 11 times for 55 yards. Rob Merritt snagged four catches for 56 yards as Brack and Samuel Sherling combined for 90 yards passing.
Defensively, Brack led the way with eight tackles, Caden Coker chipped in with seven tackles and Kent Findley recorded a sack. Wyatt Fullington added a fumble recovery.
No. 2 ranked Monroe Academy will visit Greenville next Friday night. The Eagles will wrap up the 2018 season on Friday, Oct. 26, at home against the No. 8 Escambia Academy Cougars.
