Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, at Jenkins Chapel Methodist Church in Old Texas to celebrate the life of Anna Marie Herring, 72, of Old Texas, who died unexpectedly at home on Sept. 12. Burial followed at the church. The Rev. Chris Mosley officiated. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service time.

Anna Marie was born on Oct. 26, 1945, at home in Old Texas to Eugene and Versie Owens. She was retired from Boss Glove Factory and as a home health employee. She loved gardening, her animals and spending time at church.

Anna Marie attended school in Beatrice and was well known throughout the community. She was a member of the Church of God in Greenville. She was devoted to being a mother, a grandparent and a friend to all. She will be greatly missed.

Her husband, Douglas Herring; parents, Eugene and Versie Owens; brother, Jesse Owens; son, Keith Wall, and grandson, Jason Thompson, preceded Anna Marie in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna Wall Johnson (Matt) of Greenville; brother, Bill Owens (Faye) of Silver Hill; grandchildren, David Wall (Kayla) of Old Texas and Amanda Thompson of Greenville; several nieces and nephews and two great grandchildren.

Active pallbearers were Tommy Owens, Frank Owens, Matthew Owens, Timmy Waters, David Warren, David Wall and Mike Johnston.
