Local Volunteer Fire Departments receive annual checks

Volunteer fire departments from across Butler County received annual checks from the State of Alabama for $1,100.
A personal letter of appreciation from Alabama Governor Kay Ivey was also sent to the departments.
Alabama Forestry Department representatives Jeff Owens and Jeremy Lowery handed out the checks at the Butler County Association of Volunteer Fire Departments monthly meeting last Monday.
In her letter, Gov. Ivey extended her appreciation to the departments for the work they do and stated she would continue praying for their safety.
