The Fort Dale Eagles hit the diamond running and never slowed the pace on Friday, April 20, when they faced off against the Northside Knights. Eagles aced the first game 10-0 and took the second game 7-4 to advance themselves to the next round of play.
Braxton Daniels and Sully Harold commanded the mound and plate in the first game and the Eagles wound it up in four and one- half innings.
Runs earned for the Eagles started in the second inning with six runs crossing the plate coming from Jason Little, Tripp Richardson, Luke Taylor, Baron Brack, Sully Harold and Zach Winters. Little and Harold scored again in the third, and Brack and Harold again in the fourth.
RBIs came from : Jason Little with one; Tripp Richardson with two; Luke Taylor with two; Braxton Daniels with one; Douglas Crews with two; Sully Harold with two.
In the second game , Evan Clark started on the mound and went until the bottom of the fourth when Jackson Blackmon took over. Sully Harold was once again behind the plate. Clark had a rough start, but he rallied and stayed in , tallying three strike outs and only two walks. Blackmon walked two and tallied six strike outs.
In this 7-4 game, runs crossed the plate six times in the first and stayed there until adding one more run in the sixth when Braxton Daniels sailed one over left-center field.
Runs came from: Tripp Richardson, Luke Taylor, Braxton Daniels, Douglas Crews, Davis Gaston and Baron Brack.
Northside scored four runs in the first inning and was shut down by the aggressive Eagle defense.
This moves the Eagles onto the next round which will be in Tuscaloosa on Friday of this week.
