The Fort Dale Eagles Varsity boys and girls soccer teams were on the field Thursday, April 5, against Autauga Academy Generals. At the end of regulation play, both games were tied 0-0.
The girls went into double overtime with the score still standing at 0-0. The teams then went into sudden death to get a winner. The Fort Dale team came up short by a score of 1-3.
Fort Dale boys also went into double overtime and continued on to sudden death, but with a better outcome. They managed to pull out a win by a score of 5-3.
On Friday night, both teams were on the field against Tuscaloosa Knights and both Fort Dale teams lost their matches, but it was a totally different atmosphere of play and fun games for both teams. Good sportsmanship and a friendly camaraderie was displayed by the Knights and the Eagles.
The girls lost 2-0 and the boys lost 5-0.
This was the last home game for the Eagles, and their regulation season will end on April 14, with first round of play-offs beginning April 16.
