Opal Agnes Turner Scott

Opal Agnes Turner Scott of Milton, Florida, passed from this life on Jan. 26, 2018 at Sandy Ridge Health and Rehabilitation in Milton, Florida, at the age of 97.
Opal was born on May 1, 1920 in Greenville, Alabama to the late Joseph and Winnie (Massey) Turner. She grew up on a farm in Greenville and married Rev. Kelley E. Scott on March 27, 1937. She had a deep love of music and often played the piano in church services. After successfully raising their six children, she began a long career as a bookkeeper, working for various businesses in Missouri, Texas and Alabama. After she retired, she enjoyed the country life on her 17 wooded acres near Greenville.
Opal is survived by: her six children – Kelley E. Scott, Jr. of Willis, Texas; Dorothy Barnett of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Bonnie Buck of Harrisonville, Missouri; Yvonne Burt of Pensacola, Florida; Larry Scott of Alvin, Texas; Daniel Scott of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nineteen grandchildren, and a multitude of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many friends.
Besides her parents, three siblings, and two grand-children, Opal was preceded in death by her husband, Kelley E. Scott of Harrisonville, Missouri.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb.4, 2018 at the Trahan Funeral Home Chapel in Milton. Pastor Johnny Williams of New Hope Community Church in Milton will officiate. Interment will follow at Serenity Gardens Cemetery, Milton, Fla.
