Authorities are on the lookout for a pair of men who attempted to burglarize Fred’s pharmacy in Georgiana.
According to Lt. Jeremy Peagler of the Georgiana Police Department, two men armed with crowbars pried open the business’s exit doors at approximately 2 a.m. Tuesday morning, seemingly with the intention to steal drugs from the shop’s pharmacy department.
“Once they made entry into the business, they went straight to the pharmacy area,” Peagler said, describing what the establishment’s security footage revealed of the incident. “The pharmacy was locked, and it has a closed gate. They tried to break the gate, but they were unable to.
“They left and they didn’t take anything. The only thing that was damaged was the door and the closed gate.”
Though both men wore masks and gloves to obscure their features, officers believe they are searching for two black males, one approximately between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-9 and the other of a medium build around 6-foot-2 and 6-foot-3.
Those who have information pertaining to the burglary are asked to contact the Georgiana Police Department at 334-376-2802 or 376-2255.
