The Quality Cooperative in Greenville will host its seventh annual Hunters Night Out Thursday.
Eddie Salter, “The Turkey Man,” a two-time world champion turkey caller, will be the event’s special guest. Salter, an Evergreen native, has been named one of the top-10 sportsmen in the U.S. in 1986 and 1989 and with almost four decades of turkey-hunting experience, Salter is recognized as one of the country’s leading authorities on turkey hunting. He’s appeared on ESPN, TNN, The Outdoor Channel and ABC’s 20/20 TV show and in numerous hunting videos and television commercials for Hunter’s Specialties and has been featured in many outdoor magazine articles and radio interviews.
“I have known Eddie for a very long time, said Ryan Williams, manager of Quality Cooperative. “He’s been a part of this event several times. Not only has he hosted turkey hunting seminars here at the Co-Op in the past, but he’s an avid deer hunter, too.”
The event will include a host of hunting vendors; discounted prices on tree stands, fertilizer, and food plot seed and more.
Prizes such as a Browning A-5 “Sweet Sixteen”, a Smith & Wesson AR-15 .223, 3000 rounds of Hornady .22LR and a Yeti Tundra 35-quart cooler with camo seat will also be raffled off. Prices are $5 for a single ticket and $20 for five tickets.
“I encourage everyone to stop by during the event and take advantage of huge discounts, door prizes and raffle drawings. It’s going to be a fun-filled evening,” said Williams.
Southern Catfish Wagon will be in attendance serving fresh fried fish. Guests can also enjoy door prizes that will be given away throughout the night.
Williams said the event has been a huge success over the years and has always been well received in the community. “This will be the seventh year of this event and I feel like it has gotten stronger each year,” he said. “We have had great community support and I hope it continues to grow.”
The event begins Thursday at 4 p.m. and will end at 7 p.m. It will be held at the Quality Cooperative, which is located at 485 Greenville Bypass.
