A suspect has been found for the recent robbery of the Luverne Cash & Carry Pro Hardware.
“At some point between Jan. 9 at 6 p.m. and Jan. 10 at 6:40 a.m. unknown person or persons entered Luverne Cash & Carry by force,” said Luverne Police Department Investigator Mason Adcock.
“They damaged a window at the front of the store and entered.”
Adcock says that while the intruders were in the store, they were able to force their way into two cash registers, taking approximately $200 in cash.
On Friday, a detective from the Troy Police Department contacted Adcock and stated that he had a subject in custody that was being interviewed for burglaries that had occurred in Troy.
“While the officer was talking to him, he had also recovered two DVRs that he believe were stolen from Luverne,” Adcock said.
“They were, in fact, two DVRs that were taken from Luverne Cash & Carry. We recovered the property, and gathered information from that suspect.”
The Luverne Police Department is currently working on pursuing charges against that suspect for burglary and theft.
“With all the evidence and after speaking with the suspect, it appears to be one person involved,” Adcock said.
