A single-vehicle crash Sunday, Jan. 1, has claimed the life of a Madisonville, Tenn., woman.

Judy Saffles, 67, was killed when the 2010 Ford Ranger she was driving left the roadway and crashed into a creek.

Saffles was pronounced dead at the scene.  A passenger in Saffles’ vehicle was transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The crash occurred at 8 p.m. on Interstate 65 near the 138.31 mile marker, six miles north of Greenville. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
