Lady Eagles cruise to 4-0 with Macon East win

On Monday night Fort Dale Academy’s varsity Lady Eagles blanketed the Knights of Macon East and flew away with their fourth win of the season 58-32.
In the first quarter, the Lady Eagles held the Lady Knights to only 5 points while they dropped in 20 for themselves.
In the second quarter, the Lady Eagles slowed their pace as they only put 13 points on the board. Jennifer Grace Arnold was able to hit a 3-pointer from the outside, followed by two baskets from Tucker Whiddon, making the score at halftime Fort Dale 33 to Macon East’s 14.
Madison Ann Gaston got hot-handed in the third quarter as she hit 3 baskets and 2 free throws and the Lady Eagles retained domination over the Lady Knights.
With a comfortable lead going into the fourth quarter, Coach Reggie Mantooth started playing some of his younger players and the pace slowed down a bit, but the Lady Eagles held on to their lead and as the clock wound down the Eagles closed out the game with a 58-32 win.
The top scorers for the Eagles were Lucy Bates with 13 points, Madison Ann Gaston with 12 points and Madison Langford with 11 points. The Eagles were 55 percent for the night at the free throw line. The Lady Varsity Eagles improved to 4-0 for the season.
