James McFerrin Key

James “Jim” McFerrin Key died Nov. 9, 2016. Born Nov. 1, 1927 in Lowndes County, Ala., the son of James G. and Clae McFerrin Key, James served in the US Navy in World War II and the Korean War. While stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas, he met and married Dorothy Jean Brelsford (m. March 15, 1952).

He was employed by Trans Texas/Texas International/ Continental Airlines and served as the chairman of the Executive Committee of ALEA nine years.  After retiring from the airlines, James was employed by the VA Hospital in Little Rock. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, Sons of the American Revolution, SCV, VFW, DAV, and NARF.

James is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Brelsford Key; his daughter, Julie Key Haynes (David); four grandchildren, Katherine Burns (Samuel), Bryan Haynes (Leigh), Jenna Warren (Ryan), Suzanne Jones (Justin), as well as six great-grandchildren.
