SPECIAL TO THE JOURNAL:

The Crenshaw County Community Choir celebrated “Taking It to the Street” on Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at E.L. Turner Park in Luverne.

The choir opened with singing “Won’t It Be Grand”, and prayer was offered by evangelist Etie Gregory.

There were three speakers in attendance, all of whom spoke for 10 minutes. The first speaker was Reverend Larry Jackson. The scripture he spoke from was Matthew 22: 31-32, and the subject was “A Change to the Believers: God is looking for laborers.”

The second speaker was evangelist Yvonne Holley. The scripture she spoke from was Matthew 25: 26-29, and the subject was “Prayer + the word + Praise produces power: Praise Him why you can”.

The third speaker was Rev. Marcus Sullivan. The scripture he spoke from was 2 Corinthians 12: 8-10, and the subject was “Wait Awhile: Whatever you’re going through is much bigger than you”.

The day ended with door prizes, free food, a free yard sale and free bingo.
