Johnson Furniture celebrates one-year anniversary

It’s been a busy year for Johnson Furniture. Just a little more than a year ago, the store, which occupies the old Planter’s building in downtown Greenville, welcomed guests for its grand opening.
The store, which prides itself on selection, savings and service, offers a wide variety of furniture items that can be custom designed, ordered in the store and delivered to customers’ homes for free. Each piece can be purchased in a multitude of colors and styles upon the buyer’s request.
Managers Adam and Ashley Keith said they couldn’t be more pleased with the first year of business in downtown Greenville. “Choosing the downtown location has been the perfect fit for Johnson Furniture,” Adam said.
“We’re excited and can honestly say that we’ve exceeded expectations during our first year in the Camellia City.”
Ashley, a native of Greenville and a Fort Dale Academy graduate, said that being in the old Planter’s building has been great for the business and for the community.
“It’s a real treat to have customers come in the store to shop and listen as they reminisce of memories of the old Planter’s building.”
In addition to furnishings, Ashley is transitioning into helping customers with interior design and home staging.
“I love being able to help our customers create wonderful spaces in their home,” Ashley said.
The Keiths recently added a new member to their staff – Todd Simmons. Simmons joins the business as a member of the sales and design team.
Despite the demands of running a family-owned business and being brand new parents, the Keiths enjoy being a part of a hometown community.
“As busy as we stay at the store, we enjoy participating in local community events and organizations,” Adam said.
“We’re invested locally. We run a hometown business and we like to shop locally to give back to the community and be involved in every way possible.”
Johnson Furniture, located at 200 W. Commerce Street, is open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
