Luverne Rescue and the Luverne Police Department responded to a call Tuesday morning and located an 81-year-old male, later identified as Horace Elward Fowler, lying beside his truck in the parking lot of Subway restaurant.

“On July 19 at about 11:23 a.m. a call was placed to 911 about a man on the ground beside his truck behind Subway on South Forest Ave.,” said Luverne Police Department Investigator Mason Adcock.

“Mr. Fowler was deceased by the time the first responders arrived. Officers investigated the scene and turned Mr. Fowler’s body over to coroner Ronny Turner.”

According to Mason, the officers did not observe anything at the scene that would warrant foul play.

“Mr. Fowler was suffering from serious health issues, according to family members,” Adcock said.
