The Greenville Police Department is investigating several burglaries that occurred throughout the city over the weekend.
According to authorities, Greenville Hardware, the Hair Parlor and The Gun Counter were all burglarized. Both the Hair Parlor and The Gun Counter were broken into on Friday night, while Greenville Hardware was broken into Sunday night.
Capt. Justin Lovvorn, commander of the GPD’s Criminal Investigations Division, said investigators have developed suspects in all three burglaries.
“We were able to collect some evidence that we’ve sent off to the lab and that should verify we have the right suspect, but we hope to be able to put enough evidence together to make an arrest before then,” he said.
Lovvorn said the burglars didn’t take a substantial amount of money or property from any of the businesses, but that the burglars did plenty of damage.
“The damage to the property was probably the worst thing about it,” he said.
According to Lovvorn, the burglars broke into the Hair Parlor through a back door and then crossed into The Gun Counter through the ceiling.
“They tore up the ceiling,” he said.
The GPD is asking that anyone with information on either case call (334) 382-7461 and ask for an investigator.
