Watching a world on fire

As a Greenville native and lifelong Republican voter, it breaks my heart to see Republicans just stand by watching a world on fire. We watched a budget process where our President completed his “Rhymes with Bucket” List to Congress. Other than Alabama’s Senator Sessions, there has been little real national opposition to this agenda.
Despite many ads to the contrary, 81-year-old Sen. Shelby has not been fighting for us. He has voted with whichever party he affiliated with at the time. This includes voting back in his Democrat days for Clinton’s gun control bill and opposing Reagan’s nomination of Robert Bork for the Supreme Court. Since becoming a Republican, like Sen. Mitch McConnell, Shelby has supported national budgets for huge debt increases. He voted to confirm liberal Supreme Court justices including Ruth Bader Ginsburg who are rewriting our Constitution. That’s not “standing up to Obama”, and it’s certainly note “Standing up for Alabama values.” Shelby’s opponent, Jonathan McConnell, is a proven fighter for Alabama values. He fought for us in Iraq as a Marine Captain. His small business fights to keep international waters free from Somali pirates. As a Christian and constitutionalist, he promises that his first vote will be for a conservative alternative to Sen. Mitch McConnell, no relation.
That’s the way we fight Obama and Hillary Clinton’s agenda. I urge Greenville voters to vote March 1 in the Republican Primary for Jonathan McConnell for Senator from Alabama.
