Funeral services for Mr. Martin Wilson were held on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 1 p.m. from Lomax Hannon Auditorium. Rev. Carl Wilson officiated. Military burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery. Hudson Funeral Services of Greenville directed.
Mr. Martin Fitzgerald Wilson was born May 22, 1968 to Ms. Mary Ann Caldwell and Mr. Jerry Davidson. He confessed Christ at an early age an later on in life became a member of Harrison Street Baptist Church.
He was a member of Greenville High School football team (#56) and the graduating class of 1986. Wilson joined the United State Marine Corps on May 5, 1988 and was honorably discharged on May 4, 1992. On September 17, 1989 Martin married Ms. Annie McCoy. In 2011 he became a member of God’s Way Holiness Church under the leadership of Bishop Barbara McMeans. Wilson answered God’s call home on Sept. 16, 2015 at Baptist South Medical Center in Montgomery.
He was preceded in death his grandmother, Annette (Doll) Simpson; grandfather, Herman Simpson; two nieces, Tiffany Thompson and KeI’Moriyah Abner; and two aunts, Mae Bryant and Ida Lett.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of 26 years, Annie Laura Wilson of Luverne; three daughters, Jade Wilson of Savannah, Ga., Jasmine and Zaria Wilson of Luverne; son, Malik Wilson of Luverne; loving mother, Mary Ann Caldwell of Ft. Deposit; father, Jerry Davidson of Conyers, Ga.; two sisters, Tykesha Caldwell and Carolyn (Wade) Simmons, both of Ft. Deposit; two brothers, Carl Wilson of Montgomery and Jerald Davidson of Virginia; two nieces, Ebony Wilson and Latoya Thompson, both of Ft. Deposit; two aunt Dorothy Wilson, Mobile and Maggie Champion of Greenville; five uncles, John Haven of Mobile, Harry Davidson of Montgomery, Sharvin Simpson of Mobile, Roger Simpson of Ft. Deposit and Robert Simpson of Greenville; sister-in-law, Betty (Will) Bedgood of Luverne; brother-in-law, Cecil McCoy of Greenville; best friends, Patrick Davidson of Greenville, Candace Ware of Ft. Deposit, Tamara McLemore of Macon, Ga., Charles Smith of Dothan, Bruce Hawthorne of Birmingham, Kevin Kirby of Seattle, Wa., a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
