The J3 free outdoor concert and $1,000 prize giveaway is finally here. The concert will be at Luverne First Assembly of God,, 788 Glenwood Rd., Saturday at 6 p.m.

The concert is a continuation of the Luverne First Assembly of God Church mission to give back to the community. This concert gives the community a chance to learn about the church and its members while enjoying live music and dance.

“We want people to come to our church and see what we’re all about,” said Michelle Barker, member of the church and an organizer of the event. “We want to be present in the community and just give back.”

There will be live bands from surrounding areas and the Rock Central drama team will be performing throughout the evening.

The bands that are performing are the AFGT praise band, out of Andalusia, and the band Don’t Look Back, out of Enterprise.

During the concert, there will also be a drawing for the winner of $1,000 in prizes.

The prizes include, wireless Beats headphones, a 40-inch flat screen T.V. and an iPad. One winner will take home all of the prizes.

The only way to register for the drawing was to attend one of the Rock Central Youth meetings, held every Wednesday in July leading up to the concert. With three Wednesdays before the concert, some may have as many as three chances to win the prize package.

If you have attended the meetings and your name is in the drawing you must make sure to be at the concert to claim your prize or another name will be drawn.
