Union Baptist Church will host “Unite with the Father,” a free community event Saturday at 5 p.m.

“United with the Father is a community event for everyone,” said church member Sonja Parsons. “We will have an inspiring speaker, Sammy Gilbreath, and a local band, Face Like Flint, to enjoy while we fellowship together.”

Gilbreath, evangelism director with the Alabama State Board of Missions, will be giving an inspiring word to those who attend the event.

The church hopes this event will help bring people in the community together.

“The purpose is to share Christ with the community,” said Parsons, “and give everyone an opportunity to know the Father that may not otherwise have one.”

This event will be outdoors and those who attend are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets because there will be no seating provided.

The church will serve hot dogs and hamburgers at 5 p.m. and provide waters for those who attend. You can bring other food and drink if you desire, but the church does ask that no one bring alcoholic beverages.
