For the first time in three years, the Crenshaw County Chamber of Commerce’s Taste of Crenshaw will be open to all who are interested in sampling what the county has to offer. This year’s event is open to the public.
The event will be held at the Luverne United Methodist Church Dei Center on Thursday, June 4, at 6 p.m.
The chamber has invited restaurants all over the county to provide all kinds of food, from main course meals to desserts and party foods. Luverne Pepsi will provide drinks, including their line of teas and coffee.
“This is a great opportunity for local restaurants to showcase what they are known for,” said Chamber of Commerce board member Martha Dickey. “Nothing is better than talking with old friends and eating good food.”
There will also be live entertainment along with prizes at the door for those who attend. The chamber has invited many local talents to perform during the event. Some of the prizes include gift certificates to the vendors and a flat screen television.
The proceeds from this event will help increase the amount of the chamber’s Belles and Beaus scholarships given to local high school students.
The event will cost $5 per person for food and entertainment.
“You can’t eat anywhere for five dollars,” said Dickey, “nobody should go home still hungry.”
