Officials take part in Day of Recognition for National Service

Greenville Mayor Dexter McLendon, Georgiana Mayor Jerome Antone, McKenzie Mayor Lester Odom and Butler County Commissioner Allin Whittle joined with other mayors and county officials from across the nation Tuesday to take part in the third annual Mayors Day of Recognition for National Service and County Day of Recognition for National Service. The officials recognized the efforts of the AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team, which serves as instructional assistants in the classrooms of the Butler County School system. AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team is part of the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Volunteerism-SERVEALABAMA and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
