Employees of Crenshaw County Schools will have larger paychecks to cash at the end of this month.
The school board approved bonuses at Tuesday night’s meeting.
“The board approved a one-time incentive pay of $250 for certified teachers and $125 for support staff,” said Superintendent Terry Holley.
The bonus money will come from the district’s general funds.
Holley said the incentives were well-deserved.
“It’s been about seven years since employees have had a raise,” he said. “This upcoming year, we’ve got a lot to do and have done a lot.”
He hoped the bonuses would raise employee morale and demonstrate the board’s appreciation of great work.
During the meeting, board members also recognized school nurses and those involved in the career technical programs.
In other business, busdrivers were congratulated for having no lower than 90 percent ratings on state bus inspections.
The board will meet again March 9.
