Six Georgiana residents found themselves on the wrong end of a bad wakeup call Friday morning as agents from local law enforcement executed a search warrant that netted several arrests on drug charges.

Butler County Sheriff Kenny Harden said Willie Mobley, Myron Mobley, Laquisha Eady, Darren Stallworth, Lekaish Hartley and Jerome Calhoun Jr., all of Georgiana, were arrested and charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance (marijuana).

“The second district drug task force had been working undercover for several months in the Georgiana area,” Harden said.

Additionally, Chauntia Lawson of Lowndes County was also arrested yesterday.

Harden said more arrests will come as a result of the investigation, and agents involved were with the BCSO, the DTF, the Greenville Police Department’s Special Response Team, McKenzie Police Department and the District Attorney’s Office.

In addition to drugs, the search warrant also uncovered guns, Harden said.
