The Greenville Planning Commission approved to move Midsouth Paving, Inc. from its current location in the Industrial Park to a new location on Landfill Road at its monthly meeting on Monday night.

Charlie Cook, Area Manager of the South Region for Midsouth Paving, presented the development plan to the commission.

Cook talked about truck routes coming into and out of the plant; the ground or foundation on which it will be located; and a silo that’s being built to hold 200 tons of material.

Additionally, Cook talked about the moving of the retention pond, and that pedestrian traffic wouldn’t be affected by the plant’s move.

In other business, the commission:

• heard from building official Eddie Anderson on the progress of Wendy’s and Hwashin’s slab work. He said Wendy’s is 90 percent complete and that the restaurant is paving its parking lot this week. Anderson also said that Hwashin is still pouring slabs and working on its foundations; and,

• approved a resubmission of plans from HPH Investments, LLC. For the Aaron’s Rental and Sales Facility on Willow Lane. Architect Mark Peppy assured the commission that all of their concerns have been addressed on the project. Those questions concerned removing any drainage from the access easement on the south side of the property; taking care of the grading of the front entrance that looks north; making sure the landscaping set backs are addressed; and to label all of the roads.

The next planning commission meeting is set for Mon., March 2, at 5:05 p.m. in the council chamber at city hall.
