A Rutledge woman has been charged with manslaughter for the Nov. 23, 2014, shooting death of 45-year-old Corey Woods.
Tanisha La-Shama Harris, 41, was taken into custody Friday and released on $30,000 bond the same day.
The Alabama Department of Public Safety’s State Bureau of Investigations led the investigation of the Petrey Highway shooting.
“At the request of Crenshaw County District Attorney Charlotte Tesmer, the State Bureau of Investigations is investigating the shooting death,” said Trooper Kevin Cook in a statement issued shortly after the incident.
Tesmer said Harris’ next appearance in court is set for Feb. 4 at 9 a.m. for the appointment of an attorney, if she doesn’t hire one.
“No other court dates are set for her at this time,” Tesmer added.
