Following a slow start and a comeback that came too late, the Goshen Lady Eagles fell to Highland Home during Tuesday’s contest.
The Eagles finished their run against the Flying Squadron, losing 56-18, and head coach for the Eagles said the girls had worked hard throughout the game, but could not capitalize on key plays and Flying Squadron mistakes during the match up.
Following half time, with the Eagles losing 10 to 28 against the Flying Squadron, Goshen came out ready to score and put several points up against the Flying Squadron, but the fire was soon extinguished as the Flying Squadron continued to dominate the floor smothering the Eagles.
Highland Home head coach Jacqueline Tate said the team has been working hard to prepare for the season.
“Right now, we’re just working on perfecting the offense and defense,” she said before the Goshen game. “They’ve been working hard and getting things together.”
Highland Home will take on Central-Hayneville Friday, Alabama Christian Academy Monday and McKenzie Tuesday (all at home) before heading back to Goshen Dec. 11 to 13 for the Goshen Tournament.
