If your four-legged friends could use a little help, Rutledge Mayor Beth Rogers has an event for you. She is having a pet blessing at Rutledge Town Hall Saturday, Nov. 15, at 10 a.m.

“It’s mostly for the kids,” she said. “I’ve invited clergy to bless the pets.”

Rogers also invited people to share pointers on the health and safety of animals. The experts will discuss shots, exercise and feeding pets.

“You think most kids ought to know. But if their family hasn’t taught them how to care for a pet, they don’t know,” she said.

Rogers asks that people bring photos of their pets, rather than the pets themselves.
