Luverne couldn’t get anything going in the second half and fell 32-14 to Cottonwood in the first round of the Class 2A state playoffs.
It was 19-14 at halftime.
Tigers head football coach Mike DuBose said CHS dominated his team in the second half.
“We didn’t execute, but they did,” DuBose said. “They took some things away from us.”
DuBose said CHS did a good job of “rerouting” his offense and taking away the passing game.
“They started running the ball on us,” the former Alabama coach said. “We just didn’t really get anything established in the second half offensively and defensively. What they wanted to do, they were successful in doing.”
Luverne finished its season 5-6.
