Crenshaw Christian Academy secured a spot in the playoffs a couple weeks ago. Friday, the team hopes to secure a home game during those playoffs.
“Which means we would host a game instead of having to travel west,” said head coach Greg Gibson. “And we don’t want to travel that far if we don’t have to.”
The Cougars lost at Chambers Academy 14-7. This week, the team will finish region play at Cornerstone Christian. Cornerstone started its season with a nail-clenching 33-32 win over Chambers Academy.
The Chargers are now 2-1 in region play.
The Cougars and Chargers have not played each other since 2011. Crenshaw came out on top that night, 41-15. The teams played two other times. Both ended up in wins for CCA.
The Cougars will return home next week for a non-region game against Autauga.
