Gross returning to Butler County Schools

A familiar face is returning to the Butler County School System.
During Thursday night’s Butler County Board of Education meeting, Barry Gross was hired as an assistant principal at Greenville Middle School.
Gross had previously served as an assistant principal at Greenville High School in 2011.
“I look forward to getting started back in the Butler County School System,” Gross said. “It’s nice to be back.”
Gross spent just one year at Greenville High School before accepting the position as principal at Highland Home School. He spent one year at Highland Home.
Prior to joining the Butler County School System in 2011, Gross spent 15 years working as a teacher and assistant principal in Georgia.
He served as assistant principal at Echols County School in Statenville, Ga., for four years prior to coming to the Camellia City.
Gross, who has a background in elementary education and fine arts.
He received his bachelor’s degree from Montevallo University before going on to receive his master’s degree from Troy University.
