Richard A. Morgan, 81, a resident of Davenport, Ala., passed away in a Montgomery hospital Tuesday. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 2, at 2 p.m. at Union Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Cates officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 1, at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials be given to the Davenport Church of Christ, P.O. Box 5 Hope Hull, AL 36043. Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife of 43 years, Peggy Morgan of Davenport, Ala.; daughter, Leah Morgan of Honoraville, Ala.; son, Manly Morgan of Davenport, Ala.; eight grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; sister, Virginia Arnold of Jacksonville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Morgan was very committed to the children of Highland Home School. He read to K-4 through the 2nd grade each week.
