Alabama Power crews are working to restore power to customers who lost service when strong storms swept through the area early Tuesday morning.

At 4 a.m., 11,520 customers were without power, according to figures released by the company. In Greenville, 3, 260 customers were without service.

By 6 a.m. the number of customers in Greenville without power had dropped to 300.

“The number of outages continues to fall as crews are safely able to work to restore service,” said Michael Jordan, Public Information Representative, Southern Division. “(We have) 63,500 customers that remain without service statewide.”
