Funeral services for Mrs. Winfred L. Walton, the former Jossie Larussa, 83, will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Georgiana with Bro. Randy Sexton to serve as the celebrant. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Georgiana.

A native of Montgomery, and a resident of New Iberia, La., Mrs. Walton passed away April 11 at 9:35 a.m. in a New Iberia hospital.  Mrs. Walton enjoyed crocheting and quilting, and especially enjoyed making baby blankets for friends and relatives. She was an excellent baker, baking and decorating many cakes for all special occasions. Ms. Jossie also loved to cook for her family. She was giving person and always put God and her family above all else.

Survivors include one daughter, Debbie W. Lancon and husband Hansel Jr. of Jeanerette, La.; grandchildren, Staff Sgt. Kenneth Lancon of Broussard and fiancée Dodie, Keith Lancon of St. Martinville, La., and fiancée Brandy, and Chantel L. Webre and husband Chris of Covington, La.; great grandchildren, Brittney, Baily, Dylen, Jacob, Chloe, Emelio, Mia, Felicity, and Josiah; two brothers-in-law; Ralph Walton of Montgomery, and Michael Walton and wife Darlene of Dallas, Texas; and two sisters, Shirley Keesee and Shelby Bass and husband Donald all of Montgomery.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Winfred L. Walton; one daughter, Martha Ann Walton; and parents Sam Larussa Morris and Rosa Currington Morris.

Pallbearers will be Hansel Lancon, Jr., Keith Lancon, Kenneth Lancon, Mike Walton, Scott Walton, and Ted Walton.

Honorary pallbearer will be Buddy Turner.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Walton honor may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 720 E State Highway 106, Georgiana, AL 36033.
