Mayors recognize Americorps volunteers

Georgiana Mayor Jerome Antone and Greenville Mayor Dexter McLendon joined with more than 1,760 mayors from across the country to take part in the second annual Mayors Day of Recognition for National Service. Both Antone and McLendon recognized the efforts of the AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team, which serves as instructional assistants in the classrooms of the Butler County School system. AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team is part of the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Volunteerism-SERVEALABAMA and The Corporation for National and Community Service.
