Fort Dale Academy hurlers Ryan Burkett and Dalton Hood combined to hold Evangel Christian Academy to just one hit in a 10-0 win on Monday.
The pair also combined for eight strikeouts.
They got all the run support they needed from their teammates in the first inning as the Eagles plated seven runs on five hits.
Despite the early scoring outburst, FDA head coach Josh Beverly said he felt like his team was a little rusty after having two games rained out during the spring break holiday.
“We are in a bit of a collective slump right now,” he said. “We aren’t striking out. We just aren’t hitting the ball hard.”
FDA (14-6) finished the game with nine hits.
Drake Cabe led the charge with a 4-for-4 effort. Austin Vickery was 1-for-2 and and Kenny Harden, Jr. and Hood were each 1-for-1.
