Chris Sells has announced that he will be running for the Alabama House of Representatives in District 90 as a Republican.

 

Sells, a resident of Butler County and owner of Sells Medical Equipment, said that the relationships he’s developed through business have helped make him aware of the many challenges facing citizens of his district. Sells said he is concerned with the difficulties in the education system, the need for additional employment opportunities and wasteful spending of tax dollars.

 

“The people of District 90 need a representative that is proactive for the district,” Sells said. “The day of laid back politics needs to end. Times have changed and we must change with them. I know that you can’t continue to do the same things and expect different results.”

 

Building successful businesses from the ground up is an accomplishment that Sells believes gives him the tools needed to help make a change in the government. He said seeing an opportunity for growth and improvement has been the motivation behind his success.

 

“I would like to see the return of a system in which we plan our spending more carefully,” he said. “I am a hard-working, business-minded person with the dedication to make a difference in our district. It is important that we provide our citizens the opportunities to prosper and make our district a better place for generations to come.”

 

Sells is married to Joyce Sells. The couple has a 12-year-old daughter, Hannah. He attends Springhill Baptist Church and is a member of the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association and the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce. He has been the Butler County Relay for Life sponsor for five years and serves as the 1^st Vice President of the Greenville Kiwanis Club. He is also on the board of directors for the Alabama Durable Medical Equipment Association. He has served as a certified firefighter, a licensed EMT, a licensed real estate agent and a commercial pilot.
