Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home has been serving Butler County for more than 120 years. The funeral home originally opened in 1891 beside Dunklin Hardware Store, which is now known as the Greenville Hardware Store.
In July of 1963 it moved to its current location across from Magnolia Cemetery.
Don Daniels and Damon Daniels purchased the funeral home in January of 2004 and operate as a full service funeral home. This month marks the family’s 10th anniversary of owning the business.
“We are a family owned and operated business,” said Don. “The entire staff consists of local, hometown people that are dedicated to serving the needs of families and loved ones in our community.”
Don serves as the president of the Alabama Funeral Directors Association and has served on the AFDA Board since 2010, and currently serves as Alabama’s representive to the National Funeral Directors Association Policy Board. He is a funeral director, embalmer and a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner.
“We are thankful to our friends and neighbors for allowing us to serve their needs throughout the years,” said Don. “We look forward to continuing to provide the trusted service that the people in Butler County have come to depend on since the inception of the funeral home in 1891.”
The Daniels family also owns and operates funeral homes in Camden, Columbiana and Calera, and operates two cemeteries in Shelby County, one in Childersburg and the Sunrise Memorial Park in Greenville.
