Louise Braswell Cates

Louise Braswell Cates, passed away Dec. 30 in Greenville. She was born Sept. 29, 1923, to John and Edna Braswell in Goldsboro, N.C.  She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Robert Braswell. She was a faithful member of the Fort Deposit United Methodist Church where she served as a teacher and youth leader.  She was actively involved with community activities and supported every good cause.  She lovingly raised her children and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Cates is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Eric O. Cates, Jr.  She leaves behind precious memories to her four children, Linda (Ted) Roquemore, Jean (Larry) Blackmon, Ann (John) Boutwell, Eric O. (Anne) Cates, III; 11 grandchildren, Kim (Hal) Hatchett, Hunter Roquemore, Brian (Kelli) Blackmon, Braswell (Alex) Braswell, Ben (Misty) Blackmon, Katie (Kris) Bryant, Andrew (Jane) Boutwell, Thomas (Sarah) Boutwell, Eric O. (Melissa) Cates IV, Bailey (Lisa) Cates, Mary Anne Cates; and 18 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by two brothers, Roland (Mary) Braswell and Henry (Carolyn) Braswell of Goldsboro, N.C. Services were held on Jan. 2 in the chapel of Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Carlson, and Rev. Katie Bryant officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing.  Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fort Deposit United Methodist Church, P.O.
