Greenville Mayor Dexter McLendon signed a proclamation Monday proclaiming November as National Hospice Month in the City of Greenville.  Last year, more than 1.4 million American patients, and their families, received care from hospice programs in communities throughout the United States.  In proclaiming November as National Hospice Month, the city encourages citizens to increase their understanding and awareness of hospice care and services, and to observe this month with appropriate activities and programs that contributed to the health, emotional and spiritual support, and overall wellbeing of hospice patients and families.  On hand for the signing were, from left to right, Southern Care Hospice staff members Joann Mathews, volunteer coordinator; Niki Bennet, community relations director; Ashley Pierce, RNCM; Karren Rogers, community relations manager; and Bro.
